Accidental Counsellor

Overview

Lifeline has collaborated with Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds to tailor Accidental Counsellor training to support workers in transport, warehousing and logistics. This evidence informed training includes transport specific scenarios and uses Lifeline’s Recognise, Respond and Refer model.

What you will learn

After completing the course, participants will be able to:

  • Apply the principles of recognise, respond and refer to someone who is experiencing an emotional crisis
  • Demonstrate key communication skills
  • Apply strategies for de-escalating anger
  • Define the importance of self-care

This training is designed for:

Accidental Counsellor is aimed at people who manage or contribute to the health and wellbeing of people in thetransport, warehousing or logistics sector. Including

  • Team Leaders/Managers
  • Health and Safety Advisors

Training delivery options

A two-part (blended) learning course comprising:

  1. eLearning module (1 hour)
  2. Facilitated session (3.5 hours) – interactive face-to-face classroom, or virtual classroom

Format: This course can be delivered in virtual or face to face formats.

Participant numbers: 20 per group
